Lions Summer Fete

Thousands of people enjoyed the Berkhamsted Lion’s Fete, the best and most enjoyable in it's 29-year history. Gates were open from 11am to 5pm with fun food and drink for all throughout. There was a children's theatre staging The Ugly Duckling, balloon twisting, story telling and jewellery making. Fun was had on the climbing wall, Go Karts and Bungee Trampoline.There was a delicious hog roast, paella and slices of wonderful home made cake. The wonderful Tring Brewery offered Lion Sized pints of their specially brewed Lions Pride, and Pimms for the Mums. There was amazing entertainment from Espinosa dance and singing groups, folk singers and the Hemel Hempstead Band. Pooches of all sizes came out to enter the Lions Fun Dog Show with a record number of 214 class entries which included the waggiest tail and best biscuit catcher. The fete was sponsored by Berkhamsted Mayor Ian Reay from his County Council Locality Budget fund, Roy Chapman, Tring Brewery, Dell Removals, Toad Hall Nursery Group, Castles Estate Agent, Knight Frank, Sportspace Dacorum, Oakelys, St John’s Veterinary Surgery, Davis & Samson, Carmenta Life, Waitrose, Tesco, Ask and Dee TV.
